Employee Suffers Fingertip Amputation By Saw

Employee #1 was trying to cut a leg on a platform using an 8.25-in. heavy-duty worm-drive saw. Employee #1 was resting his left hand on the saw's shroud and when the saw bumped his hand he inadvertently contacted the saw blade with his left ring finger. Employee #1 suffered an amputation of the left ring finger to the first joint. Employee #1 was treated at the hospital and released.
