Employee injured in skiing accident

On February 6, 1995, Employee #1 of Boreal Ridge Corp., a ski resort in Truckee, CA, was performing his ski patrol duties with a coworker. Members of the ski patrol were setting signs on the ski run trough on the back side of the mountain. While descending the groomed slope, Employee #1 made a turn near the bottom and caught an edge, which spun him around and sent him off the run and into a group of trees. Emergency first aid was provided by the ski patrol and Employee #1 was then transported by sled and snowmobile to the ski patrol station. He was then transported by ambulance to Tahoe Forrest Hospital, Truckee, CA, where he was treated for a broken leg (femur).
