Employee Is Run over by Flat Bed Trailer and Is Injured

On May 5, 2007, Employee #1 and a coworker were installing an air brake pod on a flatbed trailer and were having difficulty releasing the brakes. The coworker asked Employee #1 to listen for an air leak on the trailer. Employee #1 went under the flatbed trailer, and the coworker went to the yard goat. The coworker got into the yard goat, released the brakes, and drove away. The trailer ran over Employee #1. Employee #1 was taken to the hospital for his injuries. Employee #1 suffered injuries to his right femur, fractured pelvis, multiple broken ribs, and loss of muscles and tendons of his lower left leg. Employee #1 was hospitalized for 66 days.
