Carpenter Is Injured in Fall from Porch Roof

On December 8, 2006, Employee #1 was using an aerial device to ascend to the porch roof at a single-story residence. Employee #1 climbed out of the bucket of the aerial device and onto the "deck" of the roof to take some measurements to install siding. From there, Employee #1 jumped onto another porch roof, landing on some ice. Employee #1 lost his footing, slipped, and fell backward ten to twelve feet to the icy ground below. Employee #1 sustained unspecified injuries to his head, shoulder, and hand and was hospitalized. Employee #1 was working as a carpenter for a firm engaged in the construction of single-family houses.
