Investigation Nr: 201177987
Event: 03/30/2005
Employee Ribs Broken When Pinned Between Fork Lift and Truck

On March 30, 2005, Employee #1, a forklift operator for Homewood Lumber, was loading a flat bed delivery truck in the loading area of the lumber yard. Employee #1 parked the fork lift next to the truck and dismounted to remove stickers that were sitting on the unit of lumber. As he walked around the back of the fork lift, another fork lift, that was loading the truck from the other side, struck the truck bed and pushed it into the Employee #1 pinning him in between the truck bed and fork lift. Employee #1 was hospitalized in Sutter Hospital in Roseville, CA, for treatment of fractured ribs.
