Employee's finger cut when caught in printer

Employee #1 works as a printer setup person in the printing department of a company that produces recycled paper products such as egg cartons and paper plates. Employee #1 had just set the #8 printer to print inside and outside on the egg cartons. He had started the printer and was watching to ensure that it was functioning properly. When Employee #1 reached in to grab a broken egg carton, his finger became caught between the conveyor and the frame of the machine. Employee #1 knew that he should shut off the machine but acted impulsively. He was hospitalized for the injury to his finger.
