Employee's finger amputated by table saw

On March 5, 2002, Employee #1, a temporary employee with Manpower, Inc., was using a Makita table saw (Model Number 42624A) to make a groove in a wooden block. No guards or feather boards were installed on the table saw. When the block jammed, Employee #1 attempted to release it with his hand, which was then pulled into the revolving saw blade. He was hospitalized with an amputated right little finger.
