Employee injured While Pushing Bicycle Down a Ramp

At approximately 5:00 p.m. on March 11, 2002, Employee #1, a moving company laborer, pushed a bicycle out the door and started down a ramp. She stepped on the foot strap hanging down from the pedal of the bicycle. She then stumbled over the bicycle and fell 3 to 4 feet to the ground on top of the bicycle. Employee #1 was transported to Mercy Folsom Hospital. She was transferred to University of California-Davis Medical Center for treatment of several broken ribs and a separated shoulder. She was transferred one more time to Kaiser South Hospital in Sacramento, California for observation overnight.
