Investigation Summary
On November 10, 2007, employee # 1 sustained a serious injury to his left eye and face. The injury occurred at the Visser Farm complex located in Strathmore, CA. Employee # 1 was taken to the Tulare District Hospital for treatment. The employer is a farm labor contractor. Employee # 1 was driving the tractor pulling the spray rig. Employee # 2 and Employee #3 were operating the spray rig and were cleaning feed bins for the goats. One of the employees was passing the spray wand to the other employee. The wand trigger was taped open. The employee did not have a good grip on the wand and dropped it. The spray hit employee # 1 in the face causing the injury.
