Employee leg caught between machine sweep and frame

At approximately 11:00 p.m. on June 16, 2003, an employee was performing his maintenance duties in the Bread Department area. He was adjusting a photoelectric eye/limit switch on the conveyor of a bread machine. While working, his left foot was resting on the rim of the machine. As the sweep unit traveled, his foot slipped into the conveyor area and became caught between the sweep and the machine frame. He was hospitalized with a fractured lower left leg.
