Investigation Summary
On May 21, 2003, Employee #1 and three coworkers were working at a residential construction site to lift a balloon wall. Employee #1 and two of the coworkers were framers. The third coworker was a forklift driver. The wall was strapped to the forks of a forklift as the forklift raised the wall. For some reason, a 2-foot by 6-foot support board came loose and the stud wall fell apart. A 2-foot by 4-foot piece of the stud wall struck Employee #1 in the left leg. Employee #1 was hospitalized and treated for a fractured left leg.
