Employee injured in fall when blown off silo

At 4:20 p.m. on July 31, 1996, Employee #1 was securing the hatch of a large pressurized portable silo. He was on a ladder approximately 12 ft above the ground when the hatch blew off. A massive quantity of air and cement propelled Employee #1 about 20 ft before he landed on the ground. He suffered serious intracranial injuries, multiple bone fractures, and hematomas.
