Employee injured when struck by falling aluminum log

At approximately 6:05 a.m. on May 8, 1999, Employee #1, a forklift driver and saw operator helper, was unbundling a pallet of aluminum logs at an aluminum casting facility. One of the logs fell from its storage rack, striking and fracturing Employee #1's left foot. He was transported by paramedics to Riverside Community Hospital, where he was treated for five days.
