Employee injured when he trips on broken board

At 9:30 a.m. on October 26, 1995, Employee #1 was checking stock at the Smaratan-Hather Plumbing and Heating wholesale house, Santa Barbara, CA. He tripped on a broken board from a material pallet stored in the aisle of the material storage area and fell into the material shelves, fracturing his right upper arm and separating his right shoulder. Employee #1 was taken to St. Francis Hospital, Santa Barbara, CA, where he was treated and released for duty. The employer was cited for violations of T8CCR 3203(a) and 3273(a).
