Employee injured when finger caught by table saw blade

On December 10, 1993, at about 3:25 p.m., Employee #1 was pushing a piece of Douglas fir measuring 1 3/4 in. by 1 3/4 in. through an SCMI table saw (ripping operations). He was pushing the material with his right hand (no push stick was used) and was supporting the material against the table saw fence with his left hand. His left middle and index fingers slipped into the 12 in. diameter saw blade.
