Investigation Summary

At about 11:00 a.m. on March 12, 1993, Employee #1, a drywall worker, attempted to place his weight on a ceiling hanger and fell 12 ft to a concrete floor. Workers in the immediate area notified the general superintendent and 911 was called. First aid was administered by the superintendent, who had over three years of EMT experience. Paramedics arrived in about 5 minutes and transported Employee #1 to a local hospital. His injuries included two spinal fractures, a fractured left toe, and a 7 to 8 in. forehead laceration.
