Employee injured when struck by gate while unloading cattle

On July 18, 2001, Employee #1, a driver, delivered a load of cattle to the company. After he unloaded the cattle, Employee #1 had to then put the cattle in the correct holding pen. He was preparing to direct them into the correct pen by opening a 10-foot-wide steel gate. As he was opening the gate, one of the aggressive cows or bulls charged the gate, and the gate knocked Employee #1 down. After he was knocked down and before his head hit the ground, the steel gate hit Employee #1 in the head. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of a concussion.
