Employee's hand lacerated when caught in engine belt

At approximately 6:30 a.m. on September 5, 2002, Employee #1 was checking the tightness of an alternator belt when the equipment operator started the engine. Employee #1's left hand sustained serious lacerations. Employee #1 was transported by private vehicle to the hospital where he was treated and released.
