Employee's arms injured when caught by polishing machine

At approximately 6:30 a.m. on July 6, 1993, Employee #1, of Progressive Custom Wheels, was cleaning a shaft on a stand-up polishing machine. The machine was on and Employee #1 was holding the rough side of a sanding belt against the revolving shaft. He was holding the sanding belt by the ends when it and Employee #1's glove became caught and his right hand was pulled into the shaft. Employee #1 tried to stop the machine with his left hand, which also became entangled in the sanding belt and shaft. He sustained fractures and cuts to both arms.
