Employee injured in fall from beam

Employee #1 was placing 2 in. by 6 in. joists from a 6 in. by 12 in. beam, 8 ft 6 in. above the floor. While placing a 2 in. by 6 in. by 8 ft joist, he lost his balance, fell feet first, and landed on a concrete walkway. Employee #1 sustained a broken ankle and a compound fracture of the leg, which required surgery.
