Employee's fingers caught in paper cutter

Employee #1 was performing routine maintenance on a Schimaner paper cutter, placing a plastic stop under the blade. For an unknown reason he reached into the cutting area and attempted to straighten the plastic strip while the press bar was activated. His fingers were caught between the press bar and the machine table. He suffered amputation. Employee #1 had done this operation many times and was trained.
