EMPLOYEE FALLS FROM STACKED CRATES TO CONCRETE FLOOR BELOW

About 1:00 p.m., Employee #1 and other workers were told to clean the ceiling of a storage warehouse. Instead of using proper access equipment such as a ladder, the employees and their foreman climbed on top of a number of large fruit bins. When Employee #1 attempted to climb down from the stacked bins, one of them collapsed and he fell 15 ft to the concrete floor or surface. He was taken to Ventura Community Hospital and treated for his injuries.
