Employee crushed left hand in ungarded rollers

On February 11, 1994, Employee #1, a machine tool operator was working at his regular job. He had been performing this same job for approximately one year. The plant had been moved from a Los Angeles area to Ontario, Canada two months prior to the accident. The production equipment was the same. Employee #1 was injured when he placed his hand into an unguarded set of rolls on a Farris take-up machine. This machine coats and rolls up multi-gauge wire. His left hand had been crushed and required hospitalization and surgery.
