Employee's finger amputated in nip point

At approximately 11:25 a.m. on November 9, 1994, Employee #1, a mailer for Los Angeles Times, was unloading paper bundles from the conveyor belt when his right little finger was caught at the nip point of the belt drive. His finger was amputated at the first joint. He was taken to Orthopedic Hospital for treatment. He is now being treated as an outpatient.
