Employee's foot injured by falling battery

Employee #1 was changing a battery on a pallet jack in the pallet jack battery storage area. He was using a block and tackle chain with attached flat metal hooks that fit into the ends of the battery. Employee #1 was hoisting the battery from its storage area and pulling it into position sideways when the hook on one end of the battery came out. The battery fell on his right foot, and he sustained a fracture and lacerations.
