Employee's hand fractured in soap-making press

On October 27, 1994, Employee #1, a production manager for Rovar Soap Co., Inc., Los Angeles, CA, was adjusting a die on a Condor soap-making press. The press was not electrically de-energized and suddenly cycled, catching his right hand in the point of operation. Employee #1 was taken by Los Angeles Fire Department to White Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for a hand fracture. He is now being treated as an outpatient.
