Employee Injured in Fall from Elevation

At approximately 9:30 a.m. on January 25, 2001, Employee #1 was working in an industrial warehouse. The employer was taking down an 8,000 square foot mezzanine area that was previously a prefabricated modular office that had a corrugated roof. Employee #1 was working on the mezzanine area with another worker. They were stacking corrugated sheets on a pallet by grabbing the corrugated sheets by hand on the same side and dragging them to a pile and stacking one piece on top of the other. While grabbing the second corrugated sheet, Employee #1 fell approximately 9.5 feet. He sustained a severe head injury and was transported to Martin Luther King Trauma Center where he was hospitalized.
