EMPLOYEE CUTS HAND ON RADIAL ARM SAW

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on October 29, 1997, Employee # 1 was using a Speed Cut/Metra Cut radial arm saw to cut 1-ft by 10.9375-in. lengths of wood. He was holding the wood with his left hand and operating the saw with his right hand. Employee #1's hand was caught by the blade, resulting in deep and severe lacerations across the dorsum of the left hand, affecting the hand and fingers, for which he was hospitalized.
