Employee injured when entangled in pickup truck drive-line

On September 1, 1995, Employee #1, of Midas in Bakersfield, was under a Ford pickup truck trying to locate the origin of a noise. A coworker was in the cab of the truck, simulating a road test. The truck was elevated approximately 18 to 24 in. off the ground on jackstands. Employee #1 got too close to the rotating drive and the collars of his sweatshirt and workshirt became entangled with the drive-line. He was subsequently pulled into the line. Employee #1 sustained abrasions and lacerations to his neck and head, a concussion, and a subdural hematoma.
