Employee's leg severely bruised when caught between racks

At 11:30 p.m. on January 20, 1995, Employee #1, of Federal Express, was positioning air freight containers on racks when his leg got caught and severely bruised between the container locks of the adjoining static racks. He was transported to Alameda Hospital, treated, given a walking cane, and released. Employee #1 underwent emergency surgery the next day to relieve the pressure in his leg. The working surface is grated and free of obstruction. The investigation could not determine what caused the accident. No citations were issued.
