EMPLOYEE INJURED WHEN LOADING RAMP CAME DOWN ON FINGERS

At 2:30 p.m. on May 13, 1998, Employee #1, an assistant manager, attempted to use a defective loading dock which had become stuck. Employee #1 and a coworker attempted to pull the loading ramp lip open with a chain and a fork lift when the chain slipped, causing the loading ramp lip to come down on Employee #1's right fingers, crushing them. Employee #1 was taken to Alameda Hospital for treatment.
