Employee's knee infected after hitting truck tailgate

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on June 15, 1995, Employee #1 was removing equipment from the bed of a truck for work to be done on a construction site. He had secured the equipment and was stepping down out of the wet truck bed and tail gate when he struck his left knee against the tail gate. His knee became infected. He did not receive medical treatment until June 18, 1995, at Valley Care Hospital, Pleasanton, CA.
