Employee is injured after feet were caught in conveyor belt

At approximately 11:01 p.m. on May 20, 2004, Employee #1 was working as Vermeer, using cc-135A offset concrete cutter machine, removing material on a city street. In preparation for a paving job, material from the cutter runs up a rubber conveyor that was 18-in.-wide into a shroud and onto another section of the conveyor, pivot point. The material got jammed at shroud. Employee #1 climbed atop the unit and pushed the material through with his feet. Both feet were caught in the running unit, fracturing both feet. The employee was hospitalized and treated for fractures.
