Investigation Summary
At 11:30 p.m. on September 24, 2016, an on-track safety crew member was appearing to direct traffic near turn 2 on the racetrack while under a caution flag during a race. While the single-file cars were making the turn, one jumped out of line and struck the employee. The employee was killed from massive trauma/injury to head and body system.
