Employee lacerates hand and arm in hula saw

Employee #1 was attempting to unplug the blow pipe of the right hula saw while it was still running. He opened two guards to access the area he thought was plugged and stuck his head into the blow pipe entrance behind the running hula saw. His hand contacted the saw blade. Employee #1's left hand and lower arm were severely lacerated. First aid was administered by a coworker who is an EMT. Lyons Ambulance transported Employee #1 to Salem Memorial Hospital.
