Investigation Summary

At approximately 11:00 p.m. on March 18, 1995, Employee #1 became ill during his second shift. He reported to the medical center on site and was transported to the emergency room at the local hospital, where he was observed and sent home. He died at home five days later. He was treated for a viral illness, but the cause of death was a leaking aneurysm. Employee #1 had been on blood pressure medication until February, at which time he monitored his blood pressure at work and stopped medication. He had had some exposure to low frequency noise and chemical slimicide at the wet lap machine, but it was determined that no safety standards were violated.
