ELECTRIC SHOCK - DIRECT CONTACT WITH OVERHEAD LINE

A POWER LINE CREW WAS INSTALLING THE TOP AND MIDDLE PHASE CONDUCTORS OF A THREE-PHASE OVERHEAD POWER LINE, PERFORMING LINE-CLEARANCE TREE-TRIMMING WORK, AND REFUSING THE DISCONNECT ON THE POWER LINE. ONE MEMBER OF THE CREW WAS WORKING FROM THE BUCKET OF AN AERIAL LIFT, NEXT TO A TRANSFORMER. HE CONTACTED AN ENERGIZED PART AND A GROUND SIMULTANEOUSLY AND WAS ELECTROCUTED.
