Two employees injured when struck by jet of fluids

At approximately 5:00 p.m. on June 14, 1991, at Union Sugar lease well #5, section 17, a combination of calcium carbonate, acid, and oily water was forced out of a section of tubing being pulled out of a well. The mixture was under pressure and a jet of fluid shot out at the employees. Employee #1 suffered multiple contusions and abrasions, including abrasions to his right eye when it was struck by a foreign body. Employee #2 also sustained multiple contusions and abrasions. They were treated at Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria, CA.
