Employee injured in fall from truck lift gate

Employee #1 was driving a 1985 International 2-axle truck equipped with a maximum lift gate to deliver heating and air conditioning supplies and equipment to wholesale and retail customers. While unloading a delivery in Oxnard, he fell off the lift gate. No one saw Employee #1fall, but a passerby told the proprietor that he was lying unconscious on the ground. Emergency 911 was called and the Oxnard Fire Department transported to St. John's Regional Medical Center, where he was held overnight for observation and then released. An inspection of the site and truck disclosed no obvious safety hazards.
