Employee's finger lacerated in candy making machine

At about 11:15 a.m. on June 18, 1992, Employee #1, of Natural Nectar, removed the front guard from the Transpositor candy making machine and put her left hand inside to remove a piece of stuck candy. Employee #1 did not turn off the machine and her left middle finger was lacerated. The machine runs on 240 volts A.C. Employee #1 could not be contacted. The reports were based on information supplied by the employer and a witness. The employer was cited for not following lockout and blockout procedures.
