Employee hit in leg by moving forklift

At about 12:06 p.m. on June 22, 1994, Employee #1, of Silvia Construction, was walking alongside a forklift with his hand on a ripped bag of asphalt powder that was on the forks and was hit on his left leg, according to his supervisor. The employee's left foot was fractured. He was moved to Santa Teresita Hospital in Duarte and was hospitalized overnight. The forklift was being driven at a speed of about 5 miles per hour by the leadperson at the site. The accident occurred at a dirt-surfaced open site of a rock gravel manufacturing company.
