Employee's hand injured in rollers of pouch machine

At approximately 10:00 a.m. on December 19, 1990, Employee #1, of Richler Manufacturing Corporation, had spliced material that was feeding automatically into pouch machine #2. The splice came apart near the rollers and Employee #1 reached in with her left hand to feed in the material. The machine was still running and her hand became caught by the rollers. Employee #1 was transported to Pomona Valley Medical Center and discharged several hours later to recuperate at home. She had not disconnected the power to the machine, as she had been instructed.
