Employee's foot crushed between forklift and pole

On August 13, 1991, Employee #1, a warehouse employee of Budway Trucking and Warehouse, was backing a stand-up forklift when he crashed into a building support post in the warehouse. His right foot was outside of the forklift at the time and was crushed between the forklift and a pole. He was hospitalized at Presbyterian Hospital in Whittier, CA. Employee #1, who has been with the company for two years and drives the forklift daily, has been trained and has been certified by the company to operate forklifts.
