Employees suffer exposure to hydrocarbon vapors

At about 9:00 a.m. on June 5, 1992, Employees #1 and #2 were removing a blind from an overhead line on vessel #V-201. The line was not depressurized before opening and Employees #1 and #2 were not wearing respiratory protection. After the line was opened, Employees #1 and #2 were overcome by the release of hydrocarbon vapors. Employee #1 was hospitalized and Employee #2 was treated at the work site.
