Investigation Summary
At approximately 10:00 a.m. on July 22, 1992, Employee #1, of Woodcrest Egg Ranch, was using a Kinch 4-wheel fertilizer machine to dump fertilizer over the edge of an elevated dock ramp about 7 ft above ground level. The edge of the ramp had about an 8 in. high by 8 in. wide tire bumper stopper designed to clear the fertilizer machine's undercarriage. Employee #1 made several trips to the ramp, but on one trip the fertilizer machine went over the tire stops, falling 7 ft to the dirt ground. Employee #1 was pinned underneath and taken to Sharps Memorial Hospital for treatment of fractured legs.
