Employee receives 2nd and 3rd degree burns from hot plastic

At approximately 4:00 p.m. on March 8, 1994, Employee #1 was preparing to start up the SPS extruder machine when melted plastic spurted onto his forehead. He was taken to Valley Medical Center in Bakersfield, CA, and later was sent to Sherman Oaks Burn Center for treatment of second- and third-degree burns.
