Employee's finger crushed by pallet

At about 3:45 p.m. on February 13, 1992, Employee #1, of Douglas Aircraft Co., was demonstrating the MD-11 aft upper cargo door while two coworkers were moving an 8,500 pound cargo pallet using the power roller system. The pallet crushed Employee #1's right middle finger at 1/3 distal. Employee #1 was transported to Centinela Hospital for emergency treatment.
