Employee's fingertip amputated in staircase bracing

At approximately 10:00 a.m. on March 3, 1991, Employee #1 was assisting in the demolition of a steel staircase. He was guiding the staircase, which was being lifted by a crane, when his left index finger became caught between two sections of the staircase bracing. The tip of his finger was amputated and he was hospitalized for treatment.
