Employee's thumb partially amputated by table saw

At approximately 1:25 p.m. on December 14, 1992, Employee #1, of Kaiser Permanente, was working on a 10 in. diameter Rockwell table saw cutting a piece of particle board to make a part of a cabinet. He did not use the pusher as required. Employee #1's right thumb contacted the revolving saw and was partially amputated. He was taken to Permanente Hospital and was treated and released for treatment as an outpatient. The employer was advised to enforce the use of proper guards and methods to prevent accidents in the future.
