Employee's finger severed by saw blade

At approximately 12:00 noon on November 5, 1992, Employee #1, of Alfa Leisure, Inc., was cutting a small piece of plywood, using an automatic saw that clamps the wood being cut with a guard that completely covers the saw blade. Employee #1 positioned the piece of plywood under the guard and held it with his left hand while he activated the saw with his right hand. The guard clamped and held his hand, allowing the saw blade to sever his left index finger between the first and second joints.
